Newark Black Film Festival
Rebrand of the renowned Newark Festival
To celebrate the return of the Newark Black Film Festival in 2022, I designed a rebrand of the logo, strategy and communications deck. The festival has been around since 1974 with the Newark Museum of Art as a founding partner.
After a two year hiatus from the Covid pandemic, the festival was moved from a month long celebration to a more traditional 1-week long festival with an opening reception and closing award ceremony with party.
For the first time in the festivals history there was a laurel, a microsite hosted on the NMOA’s newly overhauled site and new face.

Visitor Guide
Visitor Guide for The Newark Museum of Art
The Visitor Guide for the Newark Museum of Art hadn’t been addressed since the Michael Graves renovation in 1992. As a minor element of the original re-brand, the guide had been underdeveloped and left more questions for visitors than answers.
By studying original architectural plans from the library, I rendered scaled illustrations of the Museum. The goal of the redesign of the guide, was to make it more clear to the visitor the connections between the disparate buildings. The elevation illustration hopefully gives the visitor a sense of scale of the museum and familiarity with the campus. By using standard symbols that are found in both the museum interior way-finding and the guide, visitors can more easily self direct around the campus.

Asbjorn Lunde Estate
Brand identity creation and stationary
Collector Asbjorn Lunde amassed an enclopeidic collection of European landscape paintings during his lifetime. The Asbjorn Lunde Foundation, Inc. was created to manage the art collection, it's conservation and it's loans to exhibitions. Asbjorn had a classic style aesthetically influenced by his Norweigian heritage. The red color of the logo echoes the Norweigian flag while the centered logo with offset floating characters gives a contemporary flair.

Museum Wayfinding
Ongoing graphics including environmental graphics, print and campus signage
Since taking the position of exhibition designer at the Newark Museum in 2016, I’ve brought my unique skillset in spatial planning to the graphics of the institution. I’ve worked on a wayfinding plan to be rolled out across the Museum campus both inside and out of the building.
I designed an 8 page accordion fold visitor guide, that includes an illustration of the museum for better visitor accessibility. The museum elevations were taken from the original buildings architectural plans, and then referenced the Michael Graves renovation to complete the facades. As part of the museums 2019 rebrand, I have updated the guide to reflect the new brand and will go to print this summer.
